Datasources
A brief guide on how to connect a Datastore and access its available actions via your Flows

Overview

Datasources are secure, connection-optimized databases that can feed data into your Flows. In this section, we'll answer the following questions:

How do I add a Datastore?

Adding a MongoDB Datastore
To add a Datastore, you simply need to:
  1. 1.
Head to the Datastores tab in the dashboard
  2. 2.
Select the Datastore you'd like to connect and
  3. 3.
Choose whether you'd like to create or connect a Datastore
  4. 4.
Add your details and click connect!
The entire process will take you approximately 5 minutes per Datastore.
Once your Datastore is successfully connected, your instance will be assigned a unique Connection Key. This is the value used to connect your Datastore to any of your Flows

How do I use a connected Datastore in my Flow?

Adding a MongoDB Node Template in a Flow
Flows use Environment Variables to connect to any of your connected Datastores. Therefore, once your Datastore is connected, you'll simply need to:
  1. 1.
Create an Environment Variable using your Datastore's Connection Key
  2. 2.
    Go to your Flow
  3. 3.
Add a Datastore node Template (i.e., List Records for MongoDB)
  4. 4.
    Customize your node like usual!
Buildable automagically creates an Environment Variable for you when you connect a Datastore. So, you almost always can skip step #1.
