A guide on how to securely connect a Slack Bot to Buildable

Overview

Slack is a messaging app for business that connects people to the information they need. By bringing people together to work as one unified team, Slack transforms the way organizations communicate.

Step 1: Choose Slack from the catalog

To get started, head to the Services tab of the Buildable Dashboard and select the Slack option from the available services.
Once selected, the Slack service allows you connect an existing Slack Bot account by selecting the Link Account option. To proceed, click the Continue button.
This option requires a previously created Slack account. If you don't have a Stripe account, you can create one at www.slack.com/get-started#/landing.

Step 3: Add a name and Slack Bot API Key

Give your Service a name that is easily recognizable. Then, you'll need to find a previously created Slack Bot and grab its API key. Once you've copied your key, drop it into the Buildable link modal.
Slack doesn't make creating Slack Bots and pulling their associated API keys easy. That said, we've spent countless hours figuring it out for you. If you don't have a Slack Bot yet and want to create one, read our guide: How to create a Slack Bot and grab its API key

Step 4: Connect!

Once your API key is entered, you can use the Test Connection feature to make sure the Slack Bot API key is valid before installing the Service. Once tested, click Connect to install the service on your account.
